This specimen was collected by Joe and Jeannie Dague from the old Wheatley Mine dump in early 2004 when they were granted access to the property. This is one of the finest galena specimens from the mine. The lead/zinc ore from the Wheatley Mines consisted of veins of massive galena and sphalerite. Specimens of galena or sphalerite crystals were rarely recovered and are not available on the market today.
